Who cares about the poor? There's no doubt that there are many organizations in the world that take care of the poor. A majority of those organizations are Christian. But when it comes down to the individual Christian, what is our responsibility to the poor? Do we have an individual obligation to the poor? We will take a close look into the teachings of Jesus on this subject. If you are a follower of Jesus, then there is a powerful teaching of Jesus about your obligation to the poor in your own community. Let Jesus challenge your heart as you listen to this message.
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'" (Matthew 25:37-40 NIV)
